One of the Most Beautiful Campus by Korea University Newspaper - Another Standard for University Evaluation The Korea University Newspaper selected Konyang University, the only university in central Korea, as one of top 10 beautiful campuses out of 200 and more universities. Among the chosen campuses are Kangwon National University, Konkuk University, Kyondong University, Kyonghee University, Kemyong University, Dankuk University, Dongui University, Shinra University and Wonkwang University. It was the first event to award beautiful campuses where the awarding committee considered four aspects--landscape architecture, harmony with the environment, contribution to the local community and systematic development under the master plan--as its categories. The committee is composed of university experts and the newspaper journalists. At the awarding ceremony, the newspaper stated "A campus should be beautiful" and urged that any university should cultivate a characteristic, comfortable and beautiful environment in order to fill up the shortcomings that may be caused by academic research.
